![]() He read HER book and wanted her to take Verity's position as the author (and possibly in more ways than just that). In that scene, he is also touchy with Lowen, and doesn’t even mention that she is the one he is planning on meeting. first scene when he, of all people, coincidentally is the one to help Lowen. Was Jeremy really as charming as Lowen and many readers thought or was he secretly manipulative? And was Lowen really as innocent or did she grow into the version of Verity we read in the manuscript? Remember that this book is from Lowen's perspective so she could have painted him in a better light. ![]() I believe all three (Lowen, Verity and Jeremy) are villains in their own ways but i'd like to focus on Jeremy and Lowen. We unfortunately don't get to hear Verity speak and the perspective of this book is Lowen's, who seems just as carried away with Jeremy as Verity appeared in the manuscript. Words that happen to sound villainous, which funny enough, she IS known for writing phenomenal novels from the villain's perspective. Taking the letters out of the equation, we are judging Verity based off of words on a paper. While the manuscript seems more believable to most out of the two, I believe there are holes presented in both team manuscript and team letter. As much as I don’t want to think he’s twisted, I don’t think Jeremy is as innocent as I thought. Jeremy clearly had a very specific plan when he scoped out Lowen to continue his wife’s novel series. He even becomes more controlling with Lowen in the bonus chapter too rough that it made me very uncomfortable. And I do not blame Verity’s friend for being curious at the beach, she didn’t deserve to die. Jeremy doesn’t seem to have problems killing women. I find the letter completely believable.Īfter reading the bonus chapter, I’m even more on team letter. ![]() She was the sole earner for the family and that counts for something. ![]() There is a reason why Verity was so famous and successful no one can’t say she was lacking in genre. 99.99% of us aren’t writers, or at least not famous ones, so we truly cannot comment on whether the writing practices were unjust, as dark as they were. Most think that the manuscripts are the truth but remember that Verity was a successful international author for horror novels. Maybe I’m team letter because who the world could possibly be that dark, twisted, and cruel of a mother in the manuscripts. ![]()
